If the Oakland Raiders wanted to keep their hopes of winning the AFC West alive, they needed quarterback Derek Carr to throw touchdowns again the Kansas City Chiefs. Unfortunately, he threw one to the other team after Chiefs safety Juan Thornhill burned him for a pick-six.

After watching Kansas City take a 14-0 lead late in the second quarter, Carr tried to make a big play happen for Oakland’s offense. Instead, he stared down his receiver and Thornhill read the play perfectly to jump the route and take it the distance.

It’s already Carr’s second interception of the first half and things aren’t going to get easier for the Raiders. Facing a three-score deficit, Oakland will need to put the ball in Carr’s hands even more and that has already had disastrous consequences.
