Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson just put up one of the best seasons for a running back in modern NFL history. The 2015 third-round pick from Northern Iowa recorded a league-best 2,118 total yards and 20 touchdowns from the running back position as a sophomore.

Johnson did so in 15 games after missing the Cardinals’ season finale with a sprained MCL. While the injury itself isn’t deemed long term, Arizona’s most-talented player is currently in the midst of rehabbing.

And he’s apparently doing a brilliant job.

Do we really need to break down just how ridiculous this is? Johnson, an elite-level athlete is there ever was one, legitimately jumped out of a few feet of water and on to the pavement. Meanwhile, most of us have trouble simply pulling ourselves up from the water.

It sure looks as if Johnson has recovered well from the knee injury. It also looks like Johnson might very well be on the way to reaching his ultimate goal of recording 1,000-plus rushing yards and 1,000-plus receiving yards next season.
