While the Milwaukee Brewers are known for putting up a lot of runs, they’ve also shown to be more than capable of making a jaw-dropping defensive play. Second baseman Mike Moustakas and shortstop Orlando Arcia took their play to another level on Saturday with a stunning play.
In the first inning against the Cincinnati Reds, Moustakas showed off some outstanding range to reach a ball hit right up the middle then executed the perfect glove flip to his shortstop. Arcia snagged it, then spun and fired to nab Jose Iglesias at first base just in time to end the inning.
Moustakas’ ability to keep the ball from leaving the infield then pulling off the perfect flip with his glove to put it in the perfect spot for Arcia is incredible on its own. Arcia making the grab then spinning and nailing the throw just adds to the defensive wizard on this play.
It clearly proved to be the spark Milwaukee needed. The Brewers responded with four runs in the first inning to take the lead as they look to snap their five-game losing streak.
