WATCH: Boy brought to tears meeting Astros’ Jose Altuve

Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

The current series between the Houston Astros and Los Angeles Angels in Mexico is about a lot more than baseball.

That’s especially true when we look at the Latin flavor of the Astros, former AL MVP Jose Altuve included.

The Venezuela native took time out of his day to greet young fans inside Estadio de Béisbol Monterrey before Saturday’s game.

In particular, one lucky boy could not hold back his tears as Altuve greeted him. It’s the best thing you’ll see all day.

Altuve, 28, is obviously seen as a larger-than-life figure within the Latin community. This child’s reaction to meeting him magnifies that further.

It’s pretty great to see America’s pastime head across the southern border. After all, baseball itself knows no borders.
