WATCH: Bills’ Matt Barkley throws TD to offensive tackle

Buffalo Bills quarterbacks entered Sunday’s game against the New York Jets having thrown three touchdowns compared to 16 interceptions on the season.

Needless to say, fans were thrown for a loop when head coach Sean McDermott opted to bench Nathan Peterman in favor of the recently signed Matt Barkley.

There was no way Barkley could do anything of substance against a pretty good Jets defense, right? We couldn’t have been more wrong.

With his Bills already up 17-0 midway through the second quarter, Barkley hit offensive tackle Dion Dawkins for a seven-yard touchdown. That’s right, he connected with an offensive tackle for the Bills’ third touchdown of the first half.

By virtue of this big man touchdown, the Bills had put up 24 points in 22 minutes of action. It’s laughable given that this team scored 20 combined points in its previous three games.

That’s certainly not going to sit well with a Jets head coach in Todd Bowles who fancies himself as an expert on the defensive side of the ball.
