Tom Brady is arguably the greatest quarterback in NFL history, and it didn’t take New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick long to realize he had a special player.

Speaking on the set of NFL Network to discuss Brady’s inclusion into the NFL 100 All-Time Team, Belichick opened up about when he knew the quarterback had a chance to become a star.

As it’s been noted countless times before, Brady was a sixth-round pick coming out of Michigan and wasn’t seen as franchise quarterback material. However, he immediately made a positive impression on Belichick due to his leadership.

That’s a quality that has been a hallmark of Brady’s greatness throughout his career.

Brady shared that Belichick’s admission was somewhat surprising but noted he knew the coach had confidence in him early due to his opportunities on the field.

Now, set to close out his 20th season with the Patriots, Brady and Belichick have a chance to add to their legacies by going for their seventh Super Bowl win together.
