The moment the city of Philadelphia has been waiting for finally happened. Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons hit the first three-pointer of his NBA career on Wednesday night.
The incredible moment came in the first quarter against the New York Knicks. Simmons got open in the corner, set his feet and watched his three-point shot swish through the net.
It immediately drew a standing ovation from the crowd and an even bigger celebration from his teammates. Simmons talked up his willingness to shoot three-pointers this season, but came in without a three-point attempt through 11 games.
After entering Wednesday night 0-for-17 in his career from three-point range, Simmons can finally take the zero out of his career stat sheet. Now we just have to wait for his next three-point shot to come.
