Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay has an assistant whose gameday job is literally to make sure he doesn’t crash into officials.

McVay gets so laser focused on what’s going on during the games that he has no idea what’s going on around him. As such, he often wanders right into the path of NFL refs who are running around on the sideline.

So, to combat McVay’s proclivity for running into officials, Rams strength and conditioning coach Ted Rath spends the entire game pulling McVay away from the refs.

Rath likens what he does to an art form. He says it’s like “a dance. Maybe tango?”

Watching the video, that description is quite apt.

McVay, at the age of 33, is about to go toe-to-toe with the GOAT — New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. Should he lead the Rams to victory, he’ll become the youngest head coach to win a Super Bowl in the history of the game.
