Head football coach Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide want the 2020 college football season to go on as planned amid the current pandemic.

How serious is the six-time national champion and all-time great coach about this? We’re glad you asked.

Saban took part in a recent public service announcement pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to both socially distance and wear a mask as a way to prevent its spread. In the process, he went after the Bama mascot.

Depending on which way you look at this PSA, it’s either hilarious or cringe-worthy.

Elephants shouldn’t wear masks, silly goose.

In all seriousness, mask-wearing has been proven to be one of the best ways to slow down the spread of the virus.

Social distancing has also helped prevent further spread. Both will need to take place over the next several months, if not the next calendar year. That includes during the college football season.

As of right now, it’s an open question whether Alabama’s season opener against USC slated for Sept. 5 will go on as planned. There’s growing concern over that possibility.
