WATCH: Aaron Rodgers, Allen Lazard make ‘MNF’ magic with jaw-dropping TD

Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

The Green Bay Packers pulled to within one score of the Detroit Lions in the fourth quarter Monday night, thanks to a magical throw and catch by Aaron Rodgers and Allen Lazard.

From Detroit’s 35-yard line, Rodgers dropped back to pass, then dropped an absolute dime to a spot where only Lazard could catch it. The receiver made a tough, contested play and hauled in the pass before crossing the end zone.

This score put the Packers within two points of the Lions, 22-20, with just nine minutes left in the game.

It should never have happened, though, because the Packers were gifted a first down on a horrible hands to the face penalty against Trey Flowers. He never touched his opponent’s facemask or helmet, but that penalty gave Rodgers the chance he needed to make a spectacular play.
