Netflix has made waves with some of its bone-chilling and thought-inducing documentaries in the past. “Making a Murderer” is one of the prime examples of this.

The online streaming site is now about to up the ante with the release of “Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez” on Jan 15.

By the looks of the trailer, it’s going to be something else.

“As a gifted young football athlete from Bristol, Connecticut, Aaron Hernandez had capitalized rapidly on his promise, playing for a top tier college program before being drafted into the National Football League at the age of 20. But in 2013, fresh off of a newly inked five-year, $40 million contract with the New England Patriots, Hernandez would become a household name for the most infamous murder case involving an American athlete since OJ Simpson,” the synopsis from Netflix read.

The trailer includes clips of Hernandez’s former head coach at Florida, Urban Meyer, opening up about the convicted murderer. From there, it looks at what led the former New England Patriots star down a world a violence and death.

Unless you were living under a rock or out on a deserted island back in 2013, Hernandez’s story is not foreign to to you.

He was ultimately arrested for the murder of associate and semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd. After his conviction, Hernandez committed suicide back in 2017 while being housed at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Lancaster, Massachusetts.

This came after Hernandez was acquitted on double murder charges stemming from an incident in Boston back in 2012.

The Netflix documentary looks at all of this while taking a deep and tragic delve into Hernandez’s mentality and psychological make up. It’s going to be a must watch.
