The Washington Nationals’ game Wednesday against the host Philadelphia Phillies was jeopardized by an outbreak of COVID-19 among the Nationals, The Athletic reported.
On Tuesday, shortstop Trea Turner was pulled during the middle of Washington’s game after the club learned he had tested positive.
The report did not say how many positive tests the Nationals had received. The team pushed back its daily pre-game media availability with manager Dave Martinez and had not released a lineup roughly 2 1/2 hours before first pitch.
The Nationals also had an outbreak of the virus in April, leading to their season-opening series against the New York Mets being postponed.
