One of the architects of the Golden State Warriors’ fading dynasty will be around to see things through as the team relocates to San Francisco.

According to Marc Stein of The NY Times, Golden State has agreed to a multi-year extension with general manager Bob Myers.

A former player agent, Myers joined the Warriors’ organization back in 2011 as an assistant general manager. He was promoted to general manager after just a year.

Myers is responsible for building a Warriors squad that has earned five consecutive NBA Finals appearances and three championships.

The front office head has been named NBA’s Executive of the Year twice during his stint with the Warriors.

Myers has a huge few days in front of him with injured stars Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson set to hit free agency. At the very least, the Warriors have some more continuity within the front office.
