The Golden State Warriors may have fended off a brilliant performance from LeBron James in defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1 of the NBA Finals Thursday evening.
In no way does this mean that the Warriors didn’t miss former Finals MVP Andre Iguodala. LeBron dropped a whopping 51 points, becoming the first player in NBA history to score 50-plus in a losing effort in the Finals. Iguodala was surely missed.
After having sat out each of the past five games with a leg contusion and bone bruise, it looks like Iggy will miss at least one more game.
According to Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, the veteran defensive wizard is doubtful for Golden State’s Game 2 home date against Cleveland Sunday evening.

Despite Stephen Curry performing extremely well in guarding James (2-of-6 shooting in Game 1), the rest of Golden State’s defenders struggled against the game’s best basketball player.
With Iguodala unlikely to go in Game 2, the likes of Kevin Durant and Draymond Green are going to have to step up in order for the Warriors to take a commanding 2-0 series lead.
