If the Golden State Warriors are going to steal a game in Toronto, they will have to do so without Kevin Durant. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr ruled Durant (calf) out for Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Raptors Sunday evening.
While Durant did take the trip to Canada for the first two games, he was always a long shot to play. The two-time reigning NBA Finals MVP has been out since Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals with a calf injury.
Golden State is reportedly hopeful that he can go when the series turns to Oakland in Game 3.
The two-time defending NBA champs dropped a hotly contested series opener against Toronto Thursday evening, 118-109. They’ll have to figure out a way to avoid a 2-0 series hole without Durant in the mix.
