After taking meetings with the Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs, Andre Iguodala’s return to the Golden State Warriors was not a foregone conclusion.
In fact, Iguodala received a contract offer from Houston on Saturday.
Unfortunately for the rest of the NBA, Iguodala has decided to return to the defending champions. He made the announcement official on Twitter.

That’s not a bad payday for the Sixth Man of the Year candidate and former NBA Finals MVP.
For the Warriors, this is the latest in a string of moves to keep their dominant core group together. Late Friday night, Golden State re-signed Stephen Curry to the richest contract in Association history. It then re-signed both Shaun Livingston and David West.
Despite moves from their Western Conference rivals, the Warriors remain the top dog after these string of moves. Bringing their veteran leader back on a lucrative deal magnifies this further.
