Warriors officially announce they’ve waived Shaun Livingston

Yet another core member of the Golden State Warriors’ dynasty is departing Northern California.

The Warriors officially announced on Wednesday that they have waived veteran guard Shaun Livingston. Like they did after seeing Kevin Durant and Andre Iguodala depart in recent weeks, Golden State also paid homage to Mr. Livingston.

Livingston won three titles and earned five NBA Finals appearances in his five seasons in Oakland.

The former lottery pick overcame a serious leg injury earlier in his career to become a core member of the Warriors’ second unit over the past half decade. His place in franchisee lore is already well known.

Despite a lack of eye-opening stats, Livingston’s ability to create his own mid-range shot helped the Warriors a great deal.

He now joins the likes of Durant, Iguodala, DeMarcus Cousins, Quinn Cook, Damian Jones and Jordan Bell as players who have departed Golden State this summer.
