Warriors buy yet another NBA Draft pick

The Golden State Warriors added a third selection in the 2019 NBA Draft, acquiring the 41st pick from the Atlanta Hawks for $1.3 million in cash and a 2024 second-round pick.

This is the third time in four years that the Warriors have bought an additional pick.

Back in 2016, they nabbed the 38th pick from the Milwaukee Bucks. Golden State ultimately took Patrick McCaw with that selection. The following season saw these Warriors add Jordan Bell in the second round after purchasing a pick from the Chicago Bulls.

Though, this year is a tad different. Both Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant suffered serious injuries in the NBA Finals. Each impending free agent is expected to miss most, if not all, of the 2019-20 season.

Golden State will need immediate production from at least one of its draft picks Thursday night.

As it relates to the Hawks, they now enter the draft with four selections after dealing away two second-round picks for cash.
