Burfict signed an extension with the Bengals in the summer of 2017. He was set to earn nearly $7.4 million this coming season and will cost Cincinnati $1.8 million against the cap after being released.
Best known for his outrageous violent acts on the gridiron, Burfict has been fined an incredible amount of money over the course of his career, and has been suspended for PEDs.
There were reports that the Bengals might be ready to finally move on from Burfict, and now that’s come to fruition. During the course of his career, the 28-year-old has racked up 604 tackles, 8.5 sacks, and five interceptions.
