The NFL announced Monday morning that Oakland Raiders linebacker Vontaze Burfict has been suspended for the remainder of the season for yet another helmet-to-helmet hit.
A player who is known for being exceptionally dirty, Burfict has a long history of targeting opposing players with helmet-to-helmet hits.

His dirty hit on Indianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle was a perfect example of the kind of play the NFL has specifically legislated out of the game, as you can see right here.
Before this latest suspension, Burfict had already racked up a huge list of fines and suspensions, which had cost him millions.
Now, after the news that he is being suspended 12 additional games, the amount of money he has lost over the course of his career is simply staggering.
To be clear, Burfict has nobody to blame for this financial loss but himself.
He will be appealing this latest suspension, without a shadow of doubt.
Whether he can do anything to convince James Thrash or Derrick Brooks — one of whom will hear his appeal — that his suspension should be reduced remains to be seen.
I, for one, will not be holding my breath waiting for that to happen.
