Vladimir Guerrero Jr. bests Celtics GM with first HR

Toronto Blue Jays rookie Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit his first MLB home run on Tuesday. In doing so, he bested a record previously held by…Danny Ainge.

With his home run, Guerrero became the youngest player in franchise history to hit a round tripper. The record was previously held by Ainge (H/T Sarah Langs, MLB).

We tend to remember Ainge for his career in the NBA, first as a player and now as the general manager of the Boston Celtics. But before his time in the NBA began, Ainge played 211 games for the Blue Jays between 1979-1981. He hit two career home runs, both of which came in 1979.

Chances are, Guerrero will pass Ainge on the career home run list quite soon.
