Virginia All-American Bryce Hall out for the season

The Virginia Cavaliers are reeling after two consecutive losses knocked them out of the top 25 and with an outside shot at earning a major bowl bid.

Unfortunately, head coach Bronco Mendenhall announced on Monday that Virginia will be without senior All-American defensive back Bryce Hall for the remainder of the season.

Hall suffered an ankle injury in Friday’s loss to Miami. He underwent surgery, which means the young man’s career with Virginia is over.

That’s just some horrible news. A likely first-round pick in next year’s NFL Draft, Hall has turned into one of the best cover corners in the entire nation. His loss is going to be felt big time moving forward for Virginia.

From a personal standpoint, the hope here is that this injury does not impact the 6-foot-1 Hall through the pre-draft process.

It happened so early in the season that we envision he’ll be good to go for the Senior Bowl and the NFL Scouting Combine.
