Vikings’ Teddy Bridgewater expected to be activated next week

Teddy Bridgewater

The long, arduous journey of Teddy Bridgewater back from injury could be coming to a culmination here soon. After missing all of last season following a devastating knee injury during training camp, Bridgewater has reportedly worked his way back.

According to CBS Sports NFL insider Jason La Canfora the former first-round pick will likely be activated from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list after week 6. This is the earliest that Bridgewater can be activated from said list after seeing that designation placed on him during the preseason. He’s expected to immediately start practicing with the Vikings.

It’s a major hurdle for the former Louisville star in his return from what could have been a career-ending injury. It also comes with Sam Bradford’s status for this week’s game up in the air after he missed the past three games with a knee injury. Even then, it’s going to take Bridgewater time to get into real football shape before he sees the field for live-game action.

A first-round pick back in 2014, Bridgewater boasts a career 17-11 record. He led Minnesota to an 11-5 mark and a playoff appearance as a sophomore back in 2015.
