Vikings GM would trade for Sam Bradford again in a ‘minisecond’

Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford on Monday Night Football

Minisecond isn’t actually a unit of time. Though, it can tell us what someone might feel about something. At least, that’s what Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Speilman would like us to believe.

In talking about his team’s quarterback situation, Spielman doubled down on last summer’s trade for then Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford, indicating clearly that he would make the deal all over again.

Minnesota acquired Bradford from the Eagles in exchange for a first and fourth-round pick last August after starter Teddy Bridgewater went down with a horrible season-ending injury.

Bradford would go on to throw for nearly 3,900 yards with 20 touchdowns and five interceptions. Not horrible numbers, but definitely not worthy of two valuable draft picks. That’s only magnified by the fact that Minnesota finished the season with an 8-8 record after losing eight of its past 11 games.

With Bridgewater’s status for the 2017 season up in the air, Minnesota will likely be relying on Bradford to perform at a much higher level. Considering the team doesn’t have its first-round pick this year, that’s taken to a whole new level.

Now, what unfortunate soul will be left to tell Spielman that minisecond isn’t actually a thing? We call on Adrian Petrson to break the news.
