Things are getting more convoluted and scary as it relates to Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen.

Fresh off reports that the three-time Pro Bowler was involved in an incident at a Minneapolis hotel on Saturday in which he allegedly threatened to shoot someone, we have more information.

This all comes as the 29-year-old former USC standout missed Sunday’s game against the Bills with what was then described as a knee injury.

The initial report of Griffen’s involvement in an incident at Hotel Ivy in Minneapolis led to the Vikings offering up a statement indicating that they were concerned about the star defender. Following this latest report, Griffen himself is said to be undergoing a mental health evaluation.

No further information has been offered from authorities in Minnesota or the Vikings themselves. As such, this developing story will likely lead to more details in the coming hours and days.

For now, we’re all hoping Griffen is getting the help he obviously needs.
