Vikings activate Teddy Bridgewater, place Sam Bradford on injured reserve

Sam Bradford

The Minnesota Vikings are getting one quarterback back in the mix while sending another to injured reserve. The team announced on Wednesday that it has activated Teddy Bridgewater to the 53-man roster and has placed Sam Bradford on injured reserve.

This falls in line with what reports suggested earlier in the week. And it’s a clear indication that the Vikings believe Bridgewater is capable of retuning to live game action after he suffered a horrible knee injury in August of 2016.

As it relates to Bradford, he’s seen less than two quarters of action since suffering a bone bruise to the knee in Week 2. The quarterback is meeting with Dr. James Andrews as a way to find out the extent of the injury. Though, previous reports suggest that it might be more serious than the Vikings are letting on.

Meanwhile, Case Keenum is expected to start for the Vikings against the Washington Redskins. He’s 4-2 as a starter for the first-place team thus far this season.
