Victor Cruz ‘looks faster now than ever before’ according to New York Giants teammate

New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz apparently feels amazing after recovering from a patellar injury that knocked him out of the 2014 season.

Teammate Prince Amukamara, speaking on his podcast (via NJ.com) said his teammate has definitely not lost a step:

“I trained with Cruz for one day down in Arizona—and he just came in for a day because he was in town—and I’m telling you, this guy looked fab . . . I’m telling you. Remember that I said this. This guy looks faster now than he did before.”

Amukamara did admit he could be mistaken but reiterated: “He looks so good, so polished. He does not look like he missed a step.”

If this is indeed the case, then the Giants will be very difficult to defend through the air. Odell Beckham Jr. and Cruz together, along with Rueben Randle and former Dallas Cowboy Dwayne Harris comprise a dynamic group capable of stretching defensive secondaries to the point of breaking.

Cruz has always been able to get past cornerbacks for the deep bomb, but his specialty—what made him so explosive—was his ability to take a five-yard slant 70 yards to paydirt. Before his injury, which was brutal, he utilized great burst and change of direction to avoid would-be tacklers on his way to big yardage.

Many have wondered if he’d still possess these same qualities after suffering such a devastating injury. If Amukamara isn’t full of hot air, then the diminutive receiver will soon be doing his famous salsa dance celebration, much to the chagrin of the poor defenders who thought they could stop him.
