The Vancouver Canucks claimed forward Jimmy Vesey off waivers Wednesday from the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Canucks said the 27-year-old veteran would join the team in Ottawa, where they are scheduled to play the Senators on Wednesday night.
Vesey tallied five goals and two assists in 30 games in his first season with the Maple Leafs. Toronto waived him on Tuesday.
A third-round pick by the Nashville Predators in 2012, the Boston native and Harvard product has 117 points (64 goals, 53 assists) in 334 career games with the New York Rangers (2016-19), Buffalo Sabres (2019-20) and Toronto.

He scored 20-plus points in each of his first four seasons, including a career-high 35 points (17 goals, 18 assists) in 81 games with the Rangers in 2018-19.
