USFL games are coming to Canton, Ohio, and Detroit in 2023.

After hosting all 40 regular season games at Birmingham’s Protective Stadium in 2022, the USFL revealed plans to have two franchises — New Jersey and Pittsburgh — practice and play games at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton. The 2023 league championship game also will be played there, as it was in 2022.

“The USFL is excited that the Pittsburgh Maulers and the New Jersey Generals will practice and play games in Canton during the 2023 regular season,” said Daryl Johnston, the USFL’s executive vice president of football operations. “The outstanding regional support we received during our first postseason from football fans in Ohio and Pennsylvania, including the great city of Pittsburgh, coupled with our successful partnership with the Hall of Fame Village, led to this moment.”

Detroit’s Ford Field will be the new home for the Michigan Panthers and the Philadelphia Stars, the USFL said Thursday.

Birmingham is still the home base for the defending champion Stallions and the New Orleans Breakers.

The league previously revealed the Houston Gamblers and Memphis Showboats, known last season as the Tampa Bay Bandits, will play their home games in Memphis at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.
