Undrafted rookie named Browns starting left tackle

After a tough battle throughout training camp, undrafted free agent Desmond Harrison was named the starting left tackle for the Cleveland Browns.

On Friday, Browns head coach Hue Jackson announced Harrison would start the season at left tackle and the team would move back Joel Bitonio inside to offensive guard.

It’s a major accomplishment for Harrison, who went undrafted in 2018 out of the University of West Georgia due to off-the-field concerns. Suspended multiple times by the University of Texas and ultimately kicked off the team in 2014, Harrison reportedly took two years off from football before playing at West Georgia.

Now the 24-year-old is set to start for the Browns when their season kicks off on Sunday. After a college career full of missteps and hurdles nearly ended his career, Harrison is set to make his NFL debut.
