Undefeated UCF team will be honored at Pro Bowl

UCF Knights celebrate win over South Florida on Black Friday

UCF finished the 2017 season as college football’s only undefeated team. During the NFL Pro Bowl — which will emanate from the Knights’ hometown of Orlando — the team will be honored.

“When we thought about UCF and the amazing season they had going undefeated and their bowl game win, we thought there was really no better way, especially in the city of Orlando, to do something for that college celebration of football than to honor the UCF team in stadium on Sunday,” NFL director of events and strategy Matt Shapiro said, per Shannon Green of the Orlando Sentinel.

In addition to this, the school plans on honoring the team with a National Championship banner. Additionally, Governor Rick Scott has proclaimed the Knights National Champions within the state.

Green noted that the team will be honored on the field after the first quarter of Sunday’s Pro Bowl.

UCF finished the regular season 11-0, defeated Memphis in the American Athletic Conference Championship Game, and defeated Auburn 34-27 in the Peach Bowl to secure a 13-0 season.
