That didn’t take long. Yury Gazinsky scored the first goal of the 2018 World Cup Thursday to put host nation Russia up 1-0 over Saudia Arabia.

Gazinsky was in the right place at the right time early in this match and executed a perfect header into the back of the net.

Needless to say, the crowd went absolutely bonkers as Russian fans celebrated this momentous occasion.
