Megan Rapinoe
Michael Chow-USA TODAY Sports

Megan Rapinoe scored her 50th career goal for the United States Women’s National Team on Sunday, and it gave the Americans a 1-0 lead over Netherlands in the Women’s World Cup Final.

With a golden opportunity on a penalty kick against goalie Sari van Veenendaal, who had been on fire throughout the contest, Rapinoe fooled her opponent and struck true.

Rapinoe is probably in the lead now for the Golden Boot. She seems to come up big whenever her team needs her the most. If this outcome holds up and the Americans win, Rapinoe will likely be the one holding up the trophy at the end of it all.
