UFC’s Conor McGregor arrested for robbery, criminal mischief

Conor McGregor ejected at Bellator 187

Former UFC champion Conor McGregor just can’t keep his name out of the news for all the wrong reasons.

According to the Miami Herald, McGregor was arrested in Miami Beach Monday evening for allegedly smashing a fan’s phone.

“Mixed Martial Arts star fighter Conor McGregor was arrested Monday evening after police said he smashed a fan’s phone outside the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel.” the report read. “McGregor, 30, was charged with felony strong-armed robbery and misdemeanor criminal mischief, according to Miami Beach police.”

McGregor allegedly “slapped” the phone from an unnamed fan’s hand and smashed it multiple times on the ground. He then picked up the phone — valued at $1,000 — and walked away with it.

It was less than a calendar year ago that McGregor was arrested by New York City Police for attacking a bus ahead of UFC 223.

There’s obviously more to this story. We’ll have updated information as soon as it becomes available
