A kickboxer in India quickly found out that copying Alex Pereira’s entrance doesn’t guarantee similar results to the UFC superstar in an actual fight.

Pereira was a star in kickboxing for many years before he joined the UFC. However, his impressive success in the Octagon has taken his fame to far greater heights. The Brazilian is 10-2 in the promotion, has scored wins over elite talent, and is one of just 11 fighters to win gold in two divisions.

That’s why it should come as no surprise that fighters all around the world in different combat sports idolize “Poatan” and try to mirror his style. Even his unique entrance, where the reserved fighter takes a few steps, pauses, then screams while shooting an invisible bow and arrow during his walk to the Octagon.

Alex Pereira record: 13-3 (11 knockouts)

Well, a fighter from India attempted to be like his favorite fighter and was served a nasty dose of reality inside the ring.

The video made its way online on Wednesday and went viral as it showed the unnamed fighter copying Alex Pereira’s legendary entrance to a tee as he made his walk to the ring. Then the footage switches to the fight, and it didn’t go well.

As he backtracked from his aggressive opponent, the fighter took a mean right hook from his foe that flattened him and left him lying unconscious on the bottom rope just seconds into the bout. The footage should serve as a lesson to every fighter in the world. Don’t try and be like your favorite fighter unless you are just as good as them in an actual fight.
