UCF’s Scott Frost appears to be interested in Nebraska job

UCF head coach Scott Frost is a man in high demand right now as big schools look to spark their football programs with an inspiring hire. As he and his team prepare for the AAC Championship Game against Memphis, he’s been the subject of more than a few coaching rumors, including the now-vacant position at Nebraska.

When asked about that on Monday, Frost had some interesting comments that lead us to believe he is very interested in that job.

“I’m not going to say much. I can’t tell you how much I care about these players…I know it would be really hard to leave this team. All I’m going to do is go back to my office and watch more film.”

Reading between the lines, it sure seems like Frost is saying the right things as his current team is still fighting for something special, while at the same time keeping his personal options open.

Nebraska is desperate for a big-time hire. Mike Riley was an unmitigated disaster during his three years with the Cornhuskers, going 19-19, and finishing with a record of 4-8 this past season.

Adding a coach with the clout Frost has generated in his two years at UCF — going 6-6 last year before the team’s undefeated campaign in 2017 — would certainly qualify.
