The Cincinnati Bengals never cease to amaze us. Fresh off another disappointing season, it looked like they were finally going to part ways with longtime head coach Marvin Lewis.
That all came to an end on Tuesday evening when the Bengals announced on Twitter that they have signed Lewis to a two-year extension through the 2019 season.
The announcement itself left a lot to be desired and cherry-picked some stats from his 15-year tenure in Cincinnati.

To the surprise of absolutely no one, Twitter had some brilliant responses to this shocking news.
"125 career victories" does sound better than "0.523 winning percentage".
"7 postseason appearances" does sound better than "0 – 7 in the playoffs"

Then, there was this one seriously sad Bengals fan who just can’t put up with it anymore.
You just lost a life long fan. Finally saying goodbye to a franchise I've loved and rooted for my entire 27 years of life. I can no longer root for an organization who settles for mediocrity. Mike Brown you have disgraced the city of Cincinnati and you should be ashamed. LIVID!!!

Cincinnati is 0-7 in the playoffs under Lewis. It has missed out on the postseason in each of the past two seasons. For his part, Lewis doesn’t seem to understand what his role as head coach should entail.
And now, Bengals fans who have not witnessed this team win a playoff game since 1990 can enjoy two more years of Marvin Lewis.
Joy.
