After years of wondering when the Texas Longhorns would return to prominence, they finally did it on Friday clinching a spot in the Big-12 championship game for the first time since 2009.

Texas came into Friday’s game against Kansas with a chance to secure its own destiny by knocking off the Jayhawks and clinching a spot in the conference championship game. Even if the Longhorns lost, there would still be a chance to clinch.

Fortunately for Texas, it pulled out the victory with a close win over the Jayhawks. The Longhorns slipped up at times, with two turnovers and two long touchdowns allowed, but they survived.

As the players celebrated on the field and head coach Tom Herman took in the moment, Twitter reacted to Texas finally having its moment again for the first time in nearly a decade.
