Twitter reacts to Syracuse melting down in fourth quarter against Clemson

For the second year in a row, the Syracuse Orange appeared to be taking down the mighty Clemson Tigers. Then, the Tigers woke up.

The Orange had all the momentum late in the game but just completely lost the ability to move the ball on offense, make smart clock decisions or stop Clemson.

To their credit, the Tigers scratched an clawed their way back from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter, finally coming through in a huge way with a 13-play, 94-yard drive that culminated with a Travis Etienne two-yard touchdown run.

Speaking of Etienne, he was the star of the game for the Tigers, finishing with 203 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.

During game, Clemson lost starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence to an upper-body injury after he was blasted on a scramble down the left sideline. After a very rough start, backup Chase Brice was key to the team’s huge 27-23 win.

After Clemson finally took the lead late in the fourth quarter, the defense sealed the win with a kiss.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to Syracuse melting down in the end.

Clemson’s fans rushed the field after the game, which seemed a bit over the top to many.

It’s worth mentioning that Clemson fans rush the field after every home win. That doesn’t make it less funny in instances like this, though.

The Tigers sure didn’t look like the No. 3 team in the nation on Saturday. If anything, Syracuse just ran out of steam.
