Twitter reacts to Ronald Acuña Jr. leaving game after Marlins intentionally hit him

Miami Marlins starter José Ureña decided to take matters into his own hands and plunked Atlanta Braves star Ronald Acuña Jr. with a first-pitch fastball, and it took the rookie out of the game.

Although he initially stayed in, once the adrenaline wore off, Acuña — who had belted leadoff homers in three straight games against Miami — realized he couldn’t play through the immense pain.

Right before Kevin Gausman threw his first pitch of the second inning, Acuña grabbed the attention of an umpire and jogged off the field.

“This is bad for baseball,” Braves announcer Chip Caray said as Acuña entered the dugout. And Twitter most definitely agreed.
