On Wednesday night as the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees battled for the second time in two nights, the benches cleared after Red Sox reliever Joe Kelly hit Tyler Austin as retaliation for a slide Boston took exception to earlier in the game.
Austin slammed his bat to the ground before charging the mound, and players from both teams charged into the action.

This was the second time the benches cleared in this game and the second major brawl of the day, as the San Diego Padres and Colorado Rockies got into it earlier.
Only this one is a bit more intense, as the natural rivalry between these two historic clubs adds to the flavor. Twitter had plenty to say about this particular brawl.

With the likes of Judge, Stanton, Sanchez, Betances, and Chapman I don’t think the Yankees are a team you wanna brawl with. But I love baseball fights so right on ✊🏻 https://t.co/fvrL9GX2Lk

Man,this feels good for the rivalry but the Redsox are too soft these days. No real bad guys. Yanks regulated in that brawl.

Ooh the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry is renewed with a big brawl right there! If I were Tyler Austin I would have been pissed off too! #yankees #redsox #baseball #basebrawl

Talk about a poop your pants type moment for Joe Kelly when you're in the middle of a brawl and see Judge and Stanton coming

JUDGE AND STANTON MOVED THE BRAWL FROM MID FIELD TO THE RED SOXS DUGOUT. #BIGMANSTRONG
