The St. Louis Cardinals have pulled off the biggest deal of the MLB hot stove season, acquiring six-time All-Star Paul Goldschmidt from the Arizona Diamondbacks in a blockbuster trade.

Legitimately one of the best players in baseball over the past six seasons, Goldschmidt hit .290 with 33 homers, 83 RBI and a robust .389 OBP last year. He’s also a three-time Gold Glove winner.
Needless to say, fans around the baseball world has some big reactions to this blockbuster trade. Here are the best.

Goldschmidt to the Cardinals isn’t exactly the best news I’ve ever heard.. just what the Cubs need is facing this guy more often and in the division 🙄

Quite a coup for the #STLCardinals to land Paul Goldschmidt. I'd take him over Bryce Harper or Manny Machado. Huge get. #MLB

As a @Cardinals fan, I’m liking the trade of Goldschmidt, hate to see Weaver, Kelly and Young go off to another team though. Great young players and wish them the best. Officially excited to see Goldschmidt in red, white, grey and new sky blues…

In 43 career games vs. Cubs, new Cardinals 1B Goldschmidt:
.353 average, .471 OBP, 14 HR, and his 1.170 OPS is his best against any NL opponent.

Immediate reaction from rival exec on #DBacks’ return for Goldschmidt: “A boatload” (Only he didn’t say boat). Five years control on Weaver, six on Kelly, plus pick in 70 to 75 range; Young fringy. #STLCards will call it a win, too. Kept Dakota Hudson, Kelly blocked by Yadi.
