Twitter reacts to John Fox’s hilarious challenge

Chicago Bears head coach John Fox isn’t necessarily the most liked man in the Windy City. Despite being more competitive than most imagined, this is still a losing team. And that’s been the case during his near three years as Chicago’s head coach.

This came rearing its ugly head again Sunday against the division-rival Green Bay Packers. With his team down 10-3 in the second quarter, Bears running back Benny Cunningham seemingly scored the game-tying touchdown on a pass from Mitchell Trubisky.

That’s until officials said he was out of bounds before hitting the pylon.

In the most John Fox move ever, he challenged the play. Unfortunately, as the replay showed, Cunningham actually fumbled before hitting the pylon. And upon further review, the play was ruled a touchback. If Fox had not challenged the play, it would have been first and goal for the Bears.

Needless to say, the social media world was abuzz after this hilarious mistake from the head coach.

In some cases, we feel bad for those subjected to this level of criticism on Twitter. But this right here is warranted. How in the world did Fox and his coaching staff not see that Cunningham had actually fumbled?

That’s just horrible stuff right there.
