The San Francisco 49ers just made quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo the highest-paid player in the league. Garoppolo has now surpassed Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford who previously held this honor.
The deal comes in at $137.5 million over five seasons.
Garoppolo has a total of seven career starts and a 7-0 record during that span. And, now he will average a salary of $27.5 million per year.
Obviously, the Twitter world has plenty to say about this breaking news.
