Twitter reacts after Auburn gets upset at home by Tennessee

John Reed-USA TODAY Sports

Despite getting blown out last weekend on the road against Mississippi State, Auburn came into Week 7 as 16.5-point favorites over Tennessee. Because of course it was. The Volunteers have been awful this year, engineering a comedy of errors along the way.

Well, on Saturday in front of their home fans, the Tigers absolutely crapped the bed. Jarrett Stidham put together a horrifyingly inept performance, contributing to the 30-24 loss. The team’s defense was awful as well.

The stunning upset marked the first time since 1998 that Tennessee had beaten Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Auburn fans booed the Tigers multiple times throughout the game, and many on social media wondered openly about whether head coach Gus Malzahn might end up getting bought out at some point this season.

Here are some other strong reactions from the stunning upset.
