Twitter erupts as Purdue upset Ohio State in Week 8

In a primetime, nationally televised game on ABC, Purdue upset Ohio State in Week 8, dominating the action from start to finish.

The Boilermakers were magnificent on Saturday night in front of their home fans, handing the Buckeyes their first loss of the season while winning their fourth straight game.

Things really started to turn Purdue’s way at the end of the second quarter. Right before halftime, head coach Jeff Brohm ditched the conservative approach, calling for a fake field goal. His special teams unit pulled off the trick play, and one snap later the Boilermakers were up 14-3 against the No. 2 team in the nation (watch here).

Then, early in the fourth quarter, up by 15 points, Purdue once again stunned its rival with a 42-yard touchdown run by D.J. Knox on third-and-9.

That score proved to be the dagger. While Ohio State did make a push at the end, the Boilermakers prevailed after Knox once again thrust the dagger into the heart of his opponent.

For good measure, Rondale Moore finished off the job with an absurd touchdown late in the fourth quarter that put the Boilermakers up 42-20.
