Minnesota Twins active Kyle Garlick from injured list

The Minnesota Twins reinstated Kyle Garlick from the injured list and optioned fellow outfielder Mark Contreras to Triple-A St. Paul on Monday.

Garlick missed the Twins’ last 13 games with a right calf strain. He played in two rehab games at St. Paul and had a double and a homer with two RBIs.

Garlick, 30, is batting .238 with three home runs and six RBIs in 13 games this year. He is a lifetime .226 hitter with 11 homers and 25 RBIs in 91 games for the Los Angeles Dodgers (2019), Philadelphia Phillies (2020) and Twins.

Contreras, 27, appeared in two games for the Twins, including his major league debut on May 11 against Houston. He tallied one run and one RBI in three plate appearances.
