It’s been a season-long theme in the Twin Cities. Behind one of the most-potent lineups in baseball, the Minnesota Twins head into the stretch run as a real World Series threat in the American League.
Minnesota surpassed its entire 2018 home run total before the All-Star Break this year. It has been hitting the long ball at a record clip.
However, this one stat shows us a team that’s going to absolutely demolish the single-season home run mark set by the New York Yankees in 2018.
You read that right. The Twins are on pace for 315 homers — 48 more than the Yankees last season.
A total of 11 Twins players enter this weekend’s action with double-digit homers. Max Kepler (30), Nelson Cruz (26), Eddie Rosario (23) and Mitch Garver (20) all have 20-plus homers.
Meanwhile, CJ. Cron, Miguel Sano, Jonathan Schoop and Jorge Polanco are all on pace for more than 20 bombs.
That’s just some insane stuff right there.
