TUMS will give Cavs fans free medicine if LeBron James leaves again

To the optimist, the glass is always half full. Take Cleveland Cavaliers fans as an example. The team has been to four consecutive NBA Finals, winning its first ever championship two years ago. That’s the optimistic outlook as LeBron James potentially leaves in free agency.

The bad news? LeBron’s departure would lead to anxiety and concern that the Cavaliers’ relevance in the NBA would cease to exist.

If so, TUMS is offering up Cavaliers fans free heartburn medicine should James actually leave for the bright lights of Los Angeles or another NBA city.

Really. This. Is. Happening.

“Hey Cleveland, is the basketball free agency mania triggering heartburn? TUMS feels your pain and will deliver free TUMS at the first home game of next season if your star decides to take his talents to another team,” said TUMS Brand Manager Valeria Saccol, via Cleveland.com. “TUMS may not be able to convince him to stay in The Land, but at least we can provide heartburn relief for fans who need it.”

Given that Cleveland will likely be forced to mold the team around Kevin Love if James departs, this is probably a nice offer for fans in Ohio. It won’t be pretty. And it will lead to many heartburn-filled nights at Quicken Loans Arena.

On that note, we’re going to go ahead and give TUMS credit for this offer. They have real concern for their fellow humans, as should we all.
