Tua Tagovailoa to Redskins buzz intensifies at combine

Tua Tagovailoa NFL Draft

The notion that the Washington Redskins will select Tua Tagovailoa with the No. 2 overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft is picking up steam.

Washington head coach Ron Rivera announced Wednesday that Tagovailoa and Joe Burrow would both be meeting with the team. One day later, Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report shared that he’s hearing “more and more” that the ‘Bama product is going to end up being the second-overall pick if the medical staff clears him.

It’s pretty stunning considering that Washington used the 15th overall pick last April to land Dwayne Haskins, whom many believe has the type of arm talent to be a long-term success in the NFL.

However, the Arizona Cardinals started something that could develop into an NFL trend last year when they dumped Josh Rosen after just one year and drafted Kyler Murray.

Tagovailoa has scintillating talent. He isn’t a guy who’s going to bomb it 75 yards downfield, but his point-point accuracy and big-game experience makes him one of the most pro-ready quarterbacks to enter the league in quite some time.
